The Appalachian Trail is a 2,184 mile long hiking trail that extends from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Moutn Kathadin in Maine. The trail passes through the fourteen states in the east coast. Massachusetts has 90 miles of the trail, all of which resides in the Berkshire County. It passes through the towns of Dalton and Cheshire, and summits the highest point in the state at 3,491 feet, Mount Greylock. The national park doesn’t charge an entrance fee and is accessible by public transportation. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is perfect for hiking, bird watching, and biking.
