Athur’s Seat is the highest point in Edinburgh. Located in Holyrood Park, it is a dormant volcano, sitting at about 251m above sea level. Athur’s Seat is also one of the four hill forts that dates back to around 2,000 years ago. So besides greeneries, wildlife, volcanic geology, it is a site of cultural heritage. The climb up to the site takes about 30-60 minutes. On a sunny day, visitors have access to a sweeping vista of Edinburgh atop the summit. Also found in the Holyrood Park are other hiking trails that lead to Salisbury Craigs, St. Anthony’s Chapel and Dunsapie Loch.
