The British Museum contains collections of just about every major civilization on earth. Some of these have been targets of criticism and controversy: Greek Elgin Marbles (statues from the parthenon in Athens), Nigerian Benin Bronzes and the Egyptian Rosetta Stone. Besides its magnificent collections, the building of the museum with its grand glass roof is a sight in itself.
