The Bunker Hill Monument was built to commemorate the battle on June 17, 1775, popularly known as “The Battle of Bunker Hill.” The 221-foot granite obelisk marks the site of the first major battle of the American Revolution. Visitors can climb the 294 steps to the top for unparalleled views of Boston skyline. There’s also an on-site museum free for public visit.
