Chek JawaFree: All time

Chek Jawa is a cape and the name of its 100-hectare wetlands located on the south-eastern tip of Pulau Ubin, an island off the north-eastern coast of the main island of Singapore. Chek Jawa is among the last few places left with a natural rocky shore. Opened in 2007, the boardwalk at Chek Jawa is open daily 8.30am to 6pm, admission is free. Facilities include a visitor centre at House No. 1, a viewing jetty that overlooks Pulau Sekudu, a 1.1km boardwalk through mangroves and the coastline and 20m Jejawi Tower with a panoramic view of Johor, Pulau Tekong and Singapore mainland.

Directions: Take a bumboat from Changi Jetty – the jetty is near the Changi Village Hawker Centre. The bumboats will take you to Ubin Jetty. Take a van from Ubin jetty – walk to the inland end of Ubin jetty, to the road, and look for vans and land rovers. They will all have “PU” license plates these days! Ask to be drop off at Chek Jawa.
