Cerro Tijeretas, or the “Frigate Bird Hill” is a hill with a lookout point which is often visited by frigates. The hill is reachable via a 2-mile trail from the San Cristobal Interpretation Center. Along the trail, you’ll encounter dry vegetations like cacti and acacia trees, as well as, lava lizards. At the top of the hill, you can see spectacular views of the islet of Sleeping Lion, Isla Lobos, Cerro Brujo, Puerto Baquerizo, Shipwreck Bay and others. There are two lookout points; one has a WWII canon, and the other has a statue of Charles Darwin. Find a branch of the trail that leads down to an inlet at the base of Frigate Bird Hill. It is an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling.
