People don’t normally associate swimming with Scandinavian cities, but in Copenhagen, taking a dip at the Islands Brygge harbour bath is popular amongst locals. In the summer, the 5-pool outdoor complex is open to public and can hold up to 600 people. The quality of the water is checked daily by authorities before swimmers are let in. Green flags mean good water. The project came about in 2002 in the effort to reinstate the old Langebro pools which closed in the 1953. Besides swimming, you can also enjoy other facilities in the waterfront such as sunbathing lawns, skateboarding parks and basketball courts. During the winter, the harbour bath has also started to let swimmers use the facilities.
