Khao San Road is a small road that had, in the last 20 years, developed into a world famous backpacker haven. What was a former Bangkok’s rice market now offers cheap accommodation and backpacker items ranging from clothings to second-hand books to fake ID’s. The area is internationally known as a party center; one Thai writer has described Khao San as “a short road that has the longest dream in the world.”
