Published since 1987, Kyoto Visitor’s Guide  is a highly useful, 24 page monthly English guide. The guide contains detailed color maps, accommodation, shopping and dining information. There’s also a complete listing of what is on at Kyoto’s temples, shrines, museums, theaters and other important cultural institutions. KVG are available free-of-charge at Kyoto City Tourist Information Office and many of Kyoto’s main hotels, ryokans and hostels.
