The Austrian-Chinese duo who created this audio tour of Hong Kong’s Nan Lian Garden call it “a journey through the six senses”, and invite you to explore by seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching – and thinking. It’s a relaxing, slow-paced walk through the beautiful Tang Dynasty style garden, and the audio plays through your smartphone at twelve different GPS locations, encouraging you to stop and smell the roses (sometimes literally). Both storytellers are passionate about Chinese culture, and share some of the philosophy behind the garden’s beauty in their endearing narration. “Open up your senses and let them do the work…” says Tian at one point. Use Wi-Fi to download the free app before you go so that worrying about data doesn’t ruin your Zen.
