Free: All time
When the Olympic Games took place in Beijing in 2008, the city put on the most remarkable Olympic-display to date. The 4-billion event left a legacy of impressive architecture. The Olympic Park has now been re-purposed for public use with many surviving structures including the Bird’s Nest, the Water Cube and the Olympic Forest Park. While most of these structures charge entry fees, walking about the common area of the Olympic Park is free. The ground is popular for locals to pay a pilgrimage or simply to fly kites. Best time to visit the park is during twilight hours when you can see the structures light up to their glories. It makes a good photo-op.
