Strelka, literally translated to “arrow”, is the eastern tip of Vasilyevsky Island and is one of the oldest parts of St. Petersburg. Strelka is a mere short walk across Palace Bridge. Visit this area to get a breathtaking view of St. Petersburg. It is easily the best photo op site. Come during the magic hours to get the capture the best lighting as the sun can be blinding against the Neva river at times. The Strelka is famous for its Rostral Columns and some museums as well. During the summer, visitors can also enjoy the dancing water fountains accompanied by classical music.
