The area of Suginami in Tokyo is home to many animation production houses, hence it’s also known as “anime town.” Staying true to its claim to fame, the neighborhood opened up the Suginami Animation Museum in 2005. The museum provides various exhibits including a chronological history of Japanese animation, the behind-the-scene animation production walkthrough, as well as actual anime showings. From time to time, the museum also invites professionals in the field to give talks and provides workshops. Furthermore, their library boasts a rich collection of anything anime-related.
