The Banknote & Postage Stamp Museum in Tokyo is part of the Japanese National Printing Bureau, which was founded in 1871.The museum’s first floor covers materials related to manufacturing technologies for notes and postage stamps, from the raw materials, to the tools and machines. Also, you can experience the weight of 100 million yen in their hands-on exhibit! The second floor of the museum has a number of sections covering the histories of notes, postage stamps, government bonds, passports, and the history of the National Printing Bureau itself. Note that all the exhibitions are strictly in Japanese.
