On summer weekends and some weekday nights, Downtown Boathouse, an all colunteer-run nonprofit organization provide free kayaking experience. It’s first-come-first-serve basis. Visitors get to take the kayaks out for a short 20-minute paddle inside the protected embayment. The organization gives visitors a life jacket, a kayak, a paddle, and some tips on paddling. No previous experience necessary.
