Gundam Front Tokyo is a theme park based on the popular anime series “Mobile Suit Gundam.” It was opened in 2012 and is located on the seventh floor of a shopping complex, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in man-made island of Odaiba. While most of the features in the theme park charge admission fee, there are a few sections which are free to access. Outside the DiverCity building, there is a 1/1 scale model of the giant Gundam bot. In the evening, catch a light show on this model with dramatic projection on the backdrop (7:30pm, 8:30pm, 9:30pm for 11 minutes; 8pm & 9pm for 2 minutes). The entrance of the Gundam Front Tokyo features a massive image of Gundam floating in space. And in the Gunpla section, find over 1,000 kinds of Gundam plastic models manufactured since 1980. While in Odaiba, check out other free things to do in the neighbourhood: Rainbow Bridge, Toyota Megaweb, Museum of Sewerage, Museum of Maritime Science, etc.
