Free: Tuesdays and Saturdays 9am to noon

Wave Hill is a 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the estate includes two houses and a botanical garden. Contemporary visual arts exhibits are on display in its Glyndor Gallery, as well as outside on the grounds.

Opening hours: Tue-Sun Mar 15 – Oct 31 9am – 5:30pm; Tue-Sun Nov 1 – Mar 14 9am – 4:30pm; Closed Mondays
Direction: Subway 1 to W 242nd St. Station then take the free Wave Hill shuttle van in front of Burger King at 10 mins past the hour; Subway A to West 207th St. Station then transfer to Bus BX7/BX20 to West 252nd St.
