The Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich first opened in 1977. It holds more than 3 million plants from around 9,000 different species. A large meadow and a pond (which in spring is full of singing frogs) tempts visitors to spend time outdoor. The Botanical Garden shows off its best side in spring but the tropical greenhouses are also worth a visit in bad weather.
